Volunteers invited to help with Super Bowl XL VIII Street Curling promotion

USA Curling is partnering with the City of Hoboken, N.J., to help promote curling during Super Bowl XL VIII using a Street Curling exhibition similar to that used in the Super Bowl XL VI Fan Zone in Indianapolis. This exhibit will be part of the Hoboken Huddle on Pier A on the Hoboken waterfront the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 2.

The Street Curling exhibit, which will feature three “lanes” overlooking the Manhattan skyline, will also stay in place for the duration of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Feb. 7th-23rd.

The current volunteer registration is for the Super Bowl period only (Tuesday, Jan. 28, through Sunday, Feb. 2). Curling clubs sending volunteers will be able to promote their club and activities (such as learn-to-curl sessions) at the exhibition. More information about volunteer and promotional opportunities after the Super Bowl and during the Olympic period will be available at a later date.

Click here to access the volunteer sign-up sheet online. You will need to include your name, email address and phone number in the time slot(s) for the day(s) that you would like to assist. Those specifically interested in being a “curling expert” on site to help answer questions about the sport should sign up in the 7th slot for each time slot listed, and include the letters “CE” after your name so that the volunteer coordinator will know where to place you.
