Register to volunteer in Las Vegas
Dear Curling Aficionados and Curling Clubs in the United States….a quick update
We’re heading up the Local Organizing Committee for the World Financial Group 2014 Continental Cup of Curling, which is coming to Las Vegas (and the United States) for the first time ever on January 16 – 19, 2014, at the Orleans Arena.
This note will be the LAST CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS to sign up for the WFG 2014 Continental Cup. If you are interested in volunteering, please see www.curling.ca right away. We have confirmed 131 volunteers and need just 25 more. For more information about volunteering, please contact Anne Warner Cribbs, CEO Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee and 1960 Olympian, email@example.com or call Anne at 650.323.9400.
In addition, the Host Hotel, the Orleans, has just about 60 rooms left in our block so if you are planning to get into the Host Hotel, please call today so you will not be disappointed.
If you just want to come and be fans, ticket information is available at 2014continentalcuptickets The Orleans Arena seats about 6,000 fans, and we have already sold 2,600 All Session tickets. We want to fill the stands in Las Vegas and show the world curling community that the United States can be a great place for curling.
Please spread the word to your friends, fellow curlers, colleagues and the curious. For more ticket information, please contact Jon Killoran, CEO Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, Jon.Killoran@renotahoewintergames.org
Finally, here is a summary of the event - WFG 2014 Continental Cup of Curling. The Cup is a partnership between the World Curling Federation, Canadian Curling Association and the United States Curling Association. It’s a Ryder Cup-style event pitting Team North America vs. Team World. This is an historic U.S. based competition which will also be broadcast live on TSN in Canada, as well as potential NBC coverage in the U.S. and overseas. Many of the best men’s and women’s curlers in the world will be competing on their way to the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, just three weeks later. Watch for an announcement of the teams/countries competing coming soon.
Please email us with suggestions, comments or thoughts. Thanks in advance! See you in Vegas!
