Women's curling team off to fast start to competitive season

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) - A team of U.S. Olympians is off to a fast start to the season after picking up another Ontario Curling Tour event title yesterday.

1998 Olympian Erika Brown (Oakville, Ontario) and her team of three-time Olympian Debbie McCormick (Rio, Wis.), 2006 Olympian Jessica Schultz (Richfield, Minn.) and 2002 Olympian Ann Swisshelm (Chicago) captured the KW Fall Classic title in Kitchener, Ontario, with a 5-4 victory over Ontario's Kristy Russell rink.

In three events this season, Team Brown has amassed an 18-2 record, which includes two events titles (Ontario Curling Tour Championship title on Sept. 9 and this weekend's KW Classic) and one semifinal finish at the Fort Wayne Cashspiel in August.

Team Brown returns to the ice next month for the Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Classic Oct. 5-8 in Calgary, Alberta. To learn more about Team Brown, check out their athlete biographies and season schedule here.
