Dec. 02, 2009, 3:59 p.m. (ET)

Winning Ways - For the second straight week, the 2010 U.S. Paralympic team for curling captured an event title. After winning the U.S. Open International Bonspiel on Nov. 22, Augusto Perez (East Syracuse, N.Y.) led his American team to an undefeated record to win the Kathy Kerr Memorial Bonspiel Nov. 27 in Ottawa. Perez and teammates James Pierce (North Syracuse, N.Y.), Jimmy Joseph (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Jacqui Kapinowski (Point Pleasant, N.J.) defeated Great Britain's Paralympic team, 9-4, to finish a very successful month of November in preparation for the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in March.

Scotch Sizzler - Many of the top U.S. teams will compete this weekend at the Laphroaig Scotch Open in Madison, Wis., a World Curling Tour event. Competing in the field of men's and women's teams is the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team for Women's Curling, led by Debbie McCormick (Rio, Wis.). Other teams include 2006 Olympic bronze medalist Pete Fenson (Bemidji, Minn.), 2008 national champion Craig Brown (Madison, Wis.), 2007 national champion and world bronze medalist Todd Birr (Mankato, Minn.), 2010 Olympic Team Trials bronze medalist Amy Wright (Duluth, Minn.) and two-time U.S. Olympian Erika Brown (Oakville, Ontario) in the 20-team field.

Media Day - USA Curling will hold a media day on Dec. 17 in Green Bay, Wis., with the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team for Curling. The all-day media camp includes opportunities for interviews and to tape footage on the ice at the Green Bay Curling Club, 781 Potts Ave. A local school visit is slated at 8:15 a.m. that morning as well. Media are invited to attend but must register with the school first. This corresponds with the ninth and final high performance preparation camp for the teams prior to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Members of both the men's and women's 2010 U.S. Olympic Team as well as coaching and tactical staff members will be available to the media. After the camp, the teams will be available to the media at events and on a pre-arranged basis (as scheduled with USA Curling Communications Director Terry Kolesar) up until Jan. 23 (women's team) and Jan. 30 (men's team), and not again thereafter until they arrive in Vancouver for pre-Olympic practice. If you're planning to attend, please email Terry Kolesar at

Lambeau Demo - Members of the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team for Curling will take part in a curling demonstration in the parking lot at historical Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., prior to ESPN's Monday Night Football match-up between the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens. Slated to help out at the demonstration are Olympians Debbie McCormick (Rio, Wis.), Chris Plys (Duluth, Minn.) and Coach Wally Henry (Beaver Dam, Wis.).
