Recently, the USA Canoe/Kayak National Office took an important step forward by committing to create a healthy, supportive environment for all participants through Safe Sport. Through education, resources, and training, we help our members and volunteers recognize, reduce, and respond to misconduct in sport.
The document will define areas of misconduct, expands background screen requirements, outlines best practices policies and includes information on how to report Safe Sport issues.
We know there is more work to be done. Future developments will include a dedicated area on our website addressing Safe Sport guidelines, issues, forms and frequently asked questions, education and training programs to assist with recognizing and preventing misconduct in sport, and other resources for coaches, athletes, officials and parents.
Moving forward, USA Canoe/Kayak welcomes your comments and concerns as we all work together to provide a safe and fun sport environment for youth.
Please feel free to send feedback and comments to Gerald Babao at email@example.com.
