Fund the Mission, USA Canoe/Kayak's #1 Goal

Bottom line we need to generate the resources required for us to achieve our mission and our 5 goals.

Our Mission shall be to enable United States athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence in Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and other international competition; and to promote and grow paddlesports in the United States.

Goal #1: Fund the Mission

Our Strategies to fund the mission are the following:

  1. Create value in and recognition of the USA C/K brand

  2. Support and champion capital investment in Paddlesports

  3. Conduct an annual fundraising campaign

  4. Foster partnerships that help realize the goals of USA C/K

  5. Strategically pursue and identify sponsorship activities

Our 2012 -2013 CAPITAL CAMPAIGN game plan:

SHORT-TERM (FUNDRAISING)

  • ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE: August 15, 2012

  • COMMITMENT:  Raise $50,000 through a fundraising campaign prior to the 2012 Olympic Games.

  • IMPACT:  With matching funds this represents a $100,000 impact to our budget

MID-TERM (MEMBERSHIP GROWTH)

  • ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE: July 15, 2013

  • COMMITMENT:  Double USA C/K Membership by 2014

  • IMPACT:  $75,000 dollars through increased membership revenues by 2014. 

LONG-TERM (SPONSORSHIP)

  • ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE:  January 1, 2014

  • COMMITMENT:  $150,000

  • IMPACT:  $150,000

What we are doing is real and exciting. We are determined to succeed and put Paddlesports on the map equal to the most recognized Olympic sports. As your Chairman of the USA Canoe/Kayak Board of Directors please know we, your Board of Directors, are 100% committed to this enterprise to ensure success; we will be transparent in all our deliberations, our door is open and we are available. 

To be upfront we, the staff and board, need to hear from you on how to accomplish Goal #1. I believe we can make a difference as we journey together make the tough calls, right decisions, and enjoy each other’s friendship.
