Last Sunday ‘TEAM BRADLEY’ won the World Championships of outrigger canoeing : The “Na Wahine O Ke Kai” (women of the sea) for a record equaling 6th year in a row.

The team included current Hawaii Canoe & Kayak Team coach and 2 x Australian Olympic sprint kayaker Shelley Oates-Wilding (wife of current U.S. Sprint Team Coach, Guy Wilding) as well as US Olympic sprint kayaker Lauren Spaulding-Bartlett.

This race IS NOT a sprint but a 41 mile race across the notorious Kaiwi Channel between the Hawaiian Islands of Moloka’i and Oahu.  It is a test of strength, endurance, team work and ocean skills.  There were more than 80 canoes competing this year with teams from all around the world.

Congratulations!
