Athletes accumulate the kilometers under the guidance of a Club coach or Club volunteer during training sessions.
Bantams tally their Fall sprint canoe or kayak kilometers over a “six week” period. Athletes that accumulate 200 km will receive the Bronze Award - 300km, the Silver Award - 400km, the Gold Award. The athlete will receive the Barton Bantam recognition certificate from USA Canoe Kayak. All Platinum Level athletes will receive an engraved plague to be presented at the Annual Coaching and Leadership Conference. The athlete is allowed to paddle doubles with another eligible athlete of the same gender BUT is limited to only one double paddle workout per week over the six week period – maximum 6x in doubles.
Charts to track/tally the athletes’ kilometers are provided for your use by the National Sprint Development Director.
