The USA Canoe Kayak’s National Sprint Development Program has offered this recognition since 2007.
There are three categories:
BRONZE AWARD – MINIMUM of 200 km
SILVER AWARD – MINIMUM of 300km
GOLD AWARD – MINIMUM of 400km
Athletes must be eligible for the Bantam U14 National classification in that calendar year – 2013.
Athletes carry out the following under the guidance of a club coach or volunteer during club training sessions.
Bantams tally their fall paddling kilometers over a “six week” period. Athletes that accumulate 200 km will receive the bronze standard - 300km, the silver standard - 400km the gold standard recognition award from USA Canoe Kayak.
Charts to track/tally the athletes’ kilometers are provided for your use by the National Sprint Development Director.
Recognition certificates will be awarded to athletes achieving the minimum standard in the three categories. The athlete’s name will also be posted on the website.
