USA Boxing Announces the Departure of International Teaching Coach Pedro Roque

International Teaching Coach Pedro Roque will be stepping down from his current role with USA Boxing, effective July 31. As our organization is currently undergoing a leadership transition, Interim Executive Director Mike Martino will consult with President John Brown, the USA Boxing Board of Directors as well as the National Coaches Committee to determine the long-term strategy for USA Boxing’s coaching staff.

USA Boxing’s national office staff wishes Coach Roque the best of luck in his future endeavors.

More information on future plans for Coach Roque’s position will be disseminated and posted on the USA Boxing website when available.

A Message to the Membership from Coach Roque

I have greatly enjoyed my time with the USA Boxing and the chance to work with all of the talented boxers and coaches in the United States. Despite my choice to leave my current role and relocate, I am committed to USA Boxing’s success and the future of the resident program that we have built at the Olympic Training Center.

I will always support USA Boxing and will be available to assist in the organizational transition as well as providing any guidance needed to Team USA’s athletes and coaches. While I do not have any set plans for my future in coaching at this time, I feel that is important for me to be in Miami with my family and friends and have therefore chosen to step down from my role as International Teaching Coach.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me during my time with USA Boxing, and I will always consider myself a proud member of Team USA.

Coach Pedro Roque
