BEIJING (AP) Light heavyweight Zhang Xiaoping has won China's second boxing gold medal, beating Kenny Egan of Ireland 11-7.

About two hours after light flyweight favorite Zou Shiming made history Sunday with China's first gold medal in a sport long banned by Mao, Zhang added a more surprising title in his best international result to date.

Zhang upset two medal favorites on his way to the title bout. He took an early lead and held it in a good-looking fight against Egan, who repeatedly struggled to land scoring punches despite an active attack.
