BOBSLED: Two-Man Bobsled Race Cancelled in Cortina, Italy
CORTINA, Italy-The two-man bobsled World Cup competition in Cortina, Italy was originally postponed by two hours this morning due to heavy snow. Eight sleds went off the block at the rescheduled time, battling poor visibility from the persistent snow storm, before the jury stopped the race. According to the web site of the Federation International de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganning (FIBT),"The jury convened after checking the weather forecast for the remainder of the day and determined that the conditions would not improve and the only choice was to cancel the race."The race has not been rescheduled at this time. When further information is available, it will be posted www.usbsf.com. The four-man bobsled race is still scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, January 13 at 9 CET, which is 3 am EST.
