USA Bobsled and Skeleton

The U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation is accepting applications for the General Member position on the federation's Nominating and Governance Committee, an At-Large Athlete Representative and two nominees for Independent Director positions.


The nominee for the position on the Nominating and Governance Committee must be a General Member in good standing with the USBSF.  The Nominating and Governance Committee is responsible for:

  • Identifying, evaluating and selecting candidates to serve on USBSF  Board of Directors;
  • Recommending individuals to serve on various committees and taskforces within the USBSF.

The term of this position is two years, and the committee meets as required throughout the year.  For questions, please email  B.J. Hybl at


All nominees for the At-Large Athlete Representative must meet the U.S. Olympic Committee 10 year rule, which states that an athlete must have competed in the Olympics or World Championships within the last 10 years (2004 or after). This can include both current and retired athletes. 


The position will require travel to at least three meetings per year (expenses will be covered). There is also involvement required throughout the year to help the USBSF fulfill its mission of helping athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence in Olympic competition and to promote and grow the sports of bobsled and skeleton in the United States. The term will be a four year term with possibility of a second term.  The USBSF Athlete Advisory Council will decide the representative from the nominations. The nominees for the Independent Director positions must be considered independent by having no material relationship with the USBSF, either directly or through an organization that has a material relationship with the USBSF.  The board shall represent the membership interests of the bobsled and skeleton community for the USBSF and its athletes bu providing the USBSF with policy, guidance and strategic direction.  The term of office is four years, and the board meets three to four times a year with committee work as required.  For questions, please email B.J.
