Fifteen athletes earn tickets to USA Bobsled National Push Championships through BMW Ultimate Athlete Challenge

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (August 29, 2015)- BMW, a proud partner of USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS), is sponsoring the USABS Ultimate Athlete Challenge. Nine men and six women will be flown to Lake Placid, N.Y. in September to participate in USA Bobsled National Push Championships, courtesy of BMW, based on their performances in today’s preliminary push championships held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid.

Our #ManCrushMonday is skeleton national team member Stephen Garbett. The native of Parker, Colo. spent last season competing on the North American Cup, European Cup and the World Cup tours. This summer, Garbett has been training for the upcoming season at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. We caught up with him and asked him about his expectations for this season, as well as some more personal questions.

You could say that Michael Wasko was pretty athletically active growing up in Parlin, N.J., an unincorporated community in Middlesex County. However, to say so would be quite an understatement. Wasko participated in pretty much every sport you could think of as a young child, including the traditional sports of baseball, basketball and football to go along with the less popular sports of diving and skiing. But it wasn’t until the fifth grade that he was introduced to his first love, gymnastics.
