O’Shea caps standout season ranked fourth in women’s skeleton World Cup standings

Annie O’Shea (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) capped a breakthrough season just seven points from third in fourth place overall in women’s skeleton World Cup standings after finishing sixth in the finale today. World Cup rookie Kendall Wesenberg (Modesto, Calif.) was ninth today and finished her debut season ranked 11th.

IGLS, Austria (Feb. 21, 2016)- The final heats of the four-person bobsled competition concluded the 2016 World Championships this morning. Nick Cunningham (Monterey, Calif.) and his push crew of Casey Wickline (Greenville, S.C.), James Reed (Garmisch, Germany) and Sam Michener (Gresham, Ore.) finished as the top American sled in 15th.
Meyers Taylor pilots four-woman bobsled team to fourth in World Championship exhibition race

IGLS, Austria (Feb. 21, 2016)- Four teams from three nations participated in the four-woman bobsled exhibition race in Igls, Austria today. Two-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor (Douglasville, Ga.) teamed with Lauren Gibbs (Los Angeles, Calif.), Terra Evans (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Kehri Jones (Killeen, Texas) in a rented sled for fourth place.

LILLEHAMMER, Norway (Feb. 20, 2016)- Samuel Beach was the lone American representative in the men’s mono bobsled race at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, finishing in 14th place.
Team USA hopeful for top 10 finishes in four person bobsled World Championships

IGLS, Austria (Feb. 20, 2016)- After the first two heats of four-person bobsled World Championships, Team USA is positioned in 16th and 19th. Two-time Olympian Nick Cunningham (Monterey, Calif.) and his push crew of Casey Wickline (Greenville, S.C.), James Reed (Garmisch, Germany) and Sam Michener (Gresham, Ore.) lead Team USA in 16th. After an error loading into the sled in the first heat, three-time Olympic medalist Steven Holcomb (Park City, Utah) and his team of Frank Del Duca (Bethel, Maine), Carlo Valdes (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Sam McGuffie (Cypress, Texas) could only manage 19th place.

IGLS, Austria (Feb. 20, 2016)- Although Annie O’Shea (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) wasn’t able to crack into the women’s skeleton top three as she’d hoped, finishing just 0.28 seconds from the World Championship medals in fifth, the veteran was emotional at the finish as she reflected on what she’s accomplished in her breakthrough season. She was not only proud of her own accomplishments, but of the successes of her teammates Katie Uhlaender (Breckenridge, Colo.), who finished 10th, and Kendall Wesenberg (Modesto, Calif.), who was 15th.

LILLEHAMMER, Norway (Feb. 19, 2016)- After a week of preparation on the Lillehammer, Norway track, Team USA’s skeleton team hit the ice for the 2016 Youth Olympic Games race. Rebecca Hass (Fair Haven, N.Y.) led the Americans with a ninth place finish, racing against the best youth sliding athletes in the world. Kindrick Carter (Warrington, Pa.) was the top American male in the competition with an 11th place result.
