USA Bobsled & Skeleton handed out athlete awards Saturday evening at the eighth annual gala awards dinner in Colorado Springs, Colo. The ceremony capped a weeklong national team camp at the Olympic Training Center.

Piechoski named as new USABS Board of Directors chairman

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 27, 2015)- USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS) announced Pete Piechoski as the organization’s newest Board of Directors chairman on Friday. Piechoski will take over for former chairman John Rosen, who steps aside after serving six years as chairman.

Bobsled duo takes time to speak with future minority leaders

USA Bobsled athletes Elana Meyers Taylor and her husband, Nic Taylor were married last April. Both world-class athletes, Meyers Taylor and Taylor don’t live the ordinary married life, but they definitely make it work. After their wedding, the couple launched right into preparing for the 2014-2015 season, where they made history together. Meyers Taylor became the first female to pilot a four-person bobsled in an international competition. Taylor joined her in the historic sled.

The bobsled and skeleton sliding season ended with the National Championships in March earlier this year. As you may imagine, as a world-class athlete, it isn’t enough to just train during the season. Instead, USA Bobsled & Skeleton athletes spend endless hours training around the calendar, whether it is the middle of the offseason in June or the middle of the season in January. But three USA Bobsled athletes, Cherelle Garrett, Kristi Koplin and Maureen Ajoku, took time out of their training regiments to do something that they felt was of the upmost importance.
