O’Shea sixth in women’s skeleton World Cup on all-natural track of Switzerland

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Feb. 5, 2016)- Annie O’Shea (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) carried momentum from her standout performances in North America with a sixth place finish in St. Moritz, Switzerland today to lead the USA Skeleton women’s team. Kendall Wesenberg (Modesto, Calif.) was on O’Shea’s heels after a stellar first run, but the World Cup rookie fell back a few spots into eighth in the final heat. Both Americans struggled during the shortened training week, but O’Shea said the coaching staff helped them prepare for the competition.

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Feb. 5, 2016)- Kyle Brown (Concord, N.H.) and Matt Antoine (Prairie du Chien, Wis.) were in the medal hunt after the first run of the men’s skeleton World Cup race in St. Moritz, Switzerland today, but a troublesome second heat cost both competitors several spots. Brown led the American men with a ninth place finish, while Antoine finished 15th.
World Cup returns to Europe on all natural St. Moritz track

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Feb. 3, 2016)- The bobsled and skeleton World Cup tour returns to Europe for the final races of the 2015-2016 season. The seventh of eight races will take place on the Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz-Celerine, the only natural ice track in the world. The track is constructed each season over a span of three weeks using snow and water. St. Moritz is one of the longest tracks on tour at 1,722-meters, and the Americans are favored for the medals thanks to superior coaching, experienced driving and exceptional equipment.

Meyers Taylor and Evans golden for Team USA in the European Cup bobsled finale

MORITZ, Switzerland (Jan. 31, 2016)- Elana Meyers Taylor followed up her European Cup (EC) gold medal from Igls, Austria two weeks ago with another race title in the tour finale on the all-natural St. Mortiz track Friday. Meyers Taylor and rookie Terra Evans took home the victory by 0.51 seconds to secure the top position for the Americans. Justin Olsen and newcomer Evan Weinstock turned in a pair of impressive runs to claim the fifth position in the final two-man EC race of the season on Wednesday.

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Jan. 28, 2016)- The European Cup (EC) skeleton tour came to a close after a pair of men’s and women’s races yesterday and today on the all-natural St. Moritz track. Kellie Delka (Collinsville, Texas) finished with a sixth place ranking in the overall tour standings to lead Team USA, riding four top-10 results in eight season races. Teammate Austin McCrary (Colleyville, Texas) was the highest-ranked American in the men’s skeleton standings, earning eighth place overall on the EC tour.
U.S. Olympic Committee Announces 62-Member 2016 U.S. Youth Olympic Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic Committee today announced the 62-member 2016 U.S. Youth Olympic Team that will compete at the second Winter Youth Olympic Games from Feb. 12-21 in Lillehammer, Norway. The 10-day competition for athletes between the ages of 15 and 18 will feature all 15 sport disciplines on the program for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. More than 1,100 athletes from nearly 70 nations are expected to participate.
