U.S. Women’s Bobsled World Cup Team Announced
PARK CITY, Utah- The U.S. women’s bobsled 2008-09 World Cup team was announced after the final team trials competition today. Five pilots raced each other in a series of four qualification competitions for their shot at the World Cup team.
“We have amazing athletes, and everyone on the team will give us the push we need to have great results,” said U.S. head coach, Sepp Plozza. “It was a tough team trials because there were so many races, but the athletes worked well together. I think we’re prepared for another great season, and I’m looking forward to seeing our athletes on the podium again.”
The women’s pilots for the 2008-09 World Cup season will be: Shauna Rohbock (Park City, Utah) and Erin Pac(Farmington, Conn.).
Push athletes named to the team include: Valerie Fleming (Park City, Utah), Michelle Rzepka (Novi, Mich.), Emily Azevedo(Chico, Calif.) and Elana Meyers (Douglasville, Ga.).
