Park City, UtahNov. 09 - 10, 2013
Welcome to G-Force TRYOUTS and thanks for registering with a UOP Sport Club program!
When you arrive: Please go to Guest Services in the Quinney Welcome Center (Museum). This is where you will check in, sign waivers, and get the gate code for the track. Parking is available in the lot on the north side of this building. We will shuttle the athletes down to the Basin Recreation Field House where the participants will be tested in the 30 meter sprint. Then the coaches will take you to the Bobsled/Skeleton track. From there you will take one run from Tourist Start (entrance of curve 11).
Equipment to bring: The Utah Olympic Park will provide bobsled and skeleton sleds, runners and helmets that meet DOT norms and standard safety requirements, elbow pads, and shoulder pads. YOU will need to bring clothes to slide in: Lower body-heavy spandex tights, sweats or track pants preferably with tapered legs. Upper body-outer layer sweatshirt that is somewhat abrasion resistant, without hood and not too baggy-basically clothes that can get damaged. Please bring a beanie, gloves, and track spikes.
What we have: We have a limited number of lockers available on the main floor of the Legacy Center (bring your own lock, daily use only). While it has not been a problem at the UOP, we recommend that athletes leave valuables at home. We also have a refrigerator and microwave available for athletes to use. If you wish to make purchases here but don’t want to send money or a credit card with you may set up an athlete account. The athlete gets an account number and simply tells the server when placing his/her order.
Plan with the coaches: We will have an athlete/coach meeting following to the TRYOUT for all who are interested on what the next step will be. Athletes can be selected to join either a G-Force driving school or the 7 session Intro Skeleton program. We are happy to answer questions any time they come up. It is important that we each understand what to expect and how we can accomplish your goals.
What now? You will receive an email from your coach with a detailed plan or other timely info as we get closer to the start of the program. We will also add this email address to our all-club email list. If you have additional email addresses you’d like us to use, please let me know.
