USAB Announces Women's Olympic Project 2020-2024

In collaboration with the USOC, USAB is proud to announce a Women’s Project to identify and train women athletes to compete in badminton at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games. 

A wider pool of athletes will be selected based on the results of the  2014 U-19 & U-17 Junior International Trials (JIT) held in December 2013 for U-19 Project Team, and the 2014 U-11, U-13/U-1 5 JIT which will be held in April 2014 for U-15 Project Team . The project coaches will select other players based on results and future potential. 

The first activities will be an assessment camp for the U-19 Project in July 2014, and for U-15 Project  in August 2014, Both camps will be held in the Bay Area. Also in the plans is a special group of U-17 selected from the camps for a training tour of South Korea. A follow up winter camp is being planned in 2015. USAB is planning to organize this camp at the USOC Olympic training center.
