Team USA Visits Thailand for the BWF World Junior Championships 2013
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Ten athletes and several coaches representing Team USA are gearing up for the BWF World Junior Championships 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand following their performance in the Suhandinata Cup held October 23-27. According to USA Head Coach Carl Khor, all players arrived safely and had a great practice at 3:00 pm - 4:00 on Tuesday, October 27th. In the morning, they ran and stretched near their hotel in Bangkok. On Wednesday, October 23rd, the athletes played against France in the morning and Indonesia in the afternoon making for a long day. Khor stated, "Against France, we won the first match played by Cheri (Chow) and Aston (Khor), thereafter we lost two very close matches in women's singles and women's doubles. The final score was 1-4." Each American player was given the chance gain experience against the very talented Indonesian team in the afternoon, and Team USA fell to a final score of 0-5. In the Suhandinata Cup, Team USA also played against Sri Lanka, Phillipines, Spain, and Botswana, eventually earning 27th place in the team tournament.
