September 12th was an exciting day for the owner of Midwest Badminton Club, Thomas Chen, as he hosted a grand opening event for their new club facility in Naperville, Illinois. Noted as the “first private badminton club in the Midwest” Chen and his staff host a multitude of badminton events throughout the year including tournaments, clinics, group training, open gym, and league teams. The facilities boast wooden floating flooring systems, professional lighting, and ample space for 10 courts on BWF approved badminton flooring mats.

The club’s head coach, Ilian Perez, is known in the badminton community all over the United States.  In 2011, Perez was the champion in men’s singles at the DC Classic Open, UBC Open, US Adult Nationals, and the Wilson Boston Open. Perez has been successful on the court as a player and is working hard to help juniors from the Midwest reach the podium as well.

The new location in Naperville is located at 2019 Corporate Lane, Suite 103, Naperville IL 60563 and is open 7 days a week for players of all ages and abilities.  Midwest Badminton Club also has a presence in Woodridge at their first club location, 1020 Davey Road, Suite 600, Woodridge, IL, 60517.
