The United Badminton Club is a club that allows everyone interested in badminton to improve their skills and truly enjoy the sport. UBC is located in Fremont, California.

UBC offers lessons as well as group classes to people of all ages and skill levels. Their objective is to develop a passion in all badminton players, especially juniors. They do this by using scientific training methods that help players develop both mentally and physically and improve their physical conditioning skills as well as developing strategies. After accomplishing these tasks, players are able to master the sport while developing a hobby and establishing team spirit. Their players are able to attain superior results.

UBC has classes that fit everyone’s needs. Group classes are offered for those who want to play with friends or meet new people. Classes are no smaller than four people, and no larger than eight. This ideal class size enables students to one-on-one instruction from the coaches, and allows them to interact with one another and build camaraderie with team members.  For those interested, private lessons are also available.

Head Coach Xiaomu Liu has had a very successful career, both playing and coaching. While playing, Liu won 6 major Chinese and International tournaments before having to retire early due to an untimely injury. His coaching career has been even more outstanding. Liu was the head coach of the Peruvian National team from 1994-2002. During the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, the only badminton player to qualify for the Olympics from South America was one of his students. During his tenure as the Peruvian National Coach, Liu’s teams won 133 gold, 102 silver, and 121 bronze medals. Liu has been coaching at UBC since 2005. Assistant Coaches Ziwei Qin, Colin Wu, and Eleen Chen have combined to have won 14 titles in the last 13 years.
