Club Feature: Drexel University Badminton Club

Drexel University Badminton Club has recently rejoined as a member of USA Badminton.  The club is located at the university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and holds its practices and events at the south gym and the DAC.  The club has been around for the past few years and currently has over 60 members.  Practice hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 7-10 p.m. and there is a fee of $10.

Drexel Badminton has both a competitive team, and a club.  The club welcomes players of all skill level and knowledge while the team is focused and competitive.  The team generally consists of the most talented players from the club and represents the university in collegiate matches and tournaments.   The team competes in 7 tournaments locally as well as the collegiate national tournament.  Teams the Drexel Badminton often competes against include Princeton, NYU, Columbia, Bryn Mawr, UPenn, Temple, Swarthmore and more.   Team tryouts are most often held during the second week of the term.

Drexel University Badminton Club looks to increase awareness of the sport, allow enthusiasts to share their common interests and it provides students with the opportunity to get more familiar with the sport.  Members will be able to socialize with other who enjoy the sport and will learn about the rules and strategies of the game.
