Introducing the Team USA Mobile Coach Platform!

USA Badminton became one of the few NGBs to work with the USOC in this exciting project -  the Team USA Mobile Coach Platform!

Team USA Mobile Coach is a coaching resource platform which delivers information on both a mobile application and a desktop companion site for USAB members. It is intended for a ‘one stop for USAB Coaches” to access USAB, USOC and BWF badminton training resources.

This platform is currently open to active USAB members only.  With continued membership, members will have access cutting edge information on coaching badminton by badminton and sports science experts at the United States Olympic Committee.

The software, developed by the USOC in conjunction with Advanced Mobile Solutions, is easy to use both online and on the smart phone. After the login screen, USAB members, especially its coach members will have free access to more than 100 drills, complete with explanations, diagrams and videos, all beamed to users of the iPhone and Android phone.

The badminton section currently covers an agility series, core strength, dynamic warm up, quick feet series, etc., all performed by Howard Bach, three time Olympian!  The USOC section covers coach education, coaching tips, etc. There is also a BWF introductory series.

Coaches of all levels are expected to benefit from the Mobile Coach, but it may be most assuring to part-time parents, junior, school coaches, and rec center coaches who balance the demands of full-time employment and parenthood. The software contains drill diagrams and explanations as well as video demonstrations that illustrate various concepts.  The new mobile technology allows coaches to easily access, organize and share USAB badminton drills and video with players and assistant coaches.

This is indeed a ground-breaking USAB member benefit, especially for coaches at all levels.
