July 13, 2010, 11:25 a.m. (ET)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After moving buildings on May 3rd USA Badminton and its staff have settled into its new headquarters office building in Colorado Springs, Colo.  As part of the United States Olympic Committee’s plans for expansion of the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, USA Badminton, along with five other National Governing Bodies relocated their headquarters offices to the newly renovated U.S. Olympic Sport House adjacent to America the Beautiful Park near downtown Colorado Springs.  The physical address for the new location is 30 Cimino Drive, if you find yourself in Colorado Springs please stop by for a tour.  The mailing address for USA Badminton will remain the same at 1 Olympic Plaza.

The U.S. Olympic Sport House is occupied by USA Badminton, USA Boxing, USA Judo, USA Pentathlon, USA Taekwondo USA Weightlifting and the USOC Shipping and Receiving Mail Room.  The newly renovated building came about through a larger agreement between the United States Olympic Committee and the city of Colorado Springs that will keep the USOC in Colorado Springs for the next 30 years.  As part of the deal, the United States Olympic Committee has relocated its staff to a newly constructed office building in downtown Colorado Springs.

The U.S. Olympic Sport House, formerly the Colorado Springs Utilities building, underwent a three million dollar renovation to be transformed into a first class office building complete with state of the art office furniture and fully technologically equipped meeting rooms.  USA Badminton is located on the second floor of the building which is designed in such a way as to give each resident National Governing Body its private office space, while also maximizing ways in which the six NGBs can collaborate for sharing services.  USA Badminton has been at the forefront of working with the USOC on developing the shared services model, having participated in the USOC first ever shared service program with NGB Media Services from its inception to date.  Besides sharing conference rooms, copy machines, kitchen areas and a workout room the new building is setup in a way that NGBs can develop new ways to share services at shared costs; that will make each NGB more efficient from an operational perspective.

Now that we are settled into our new offices, we are excited to welcome visitors to show off our state-of-the-art surroundings.  If you are in the Colorado Springs area, please come by to see us.
