USA All Set For The 2010 Thomas – Uber Cup Pan Am Zone Qualifiers
The Thomas and Uber Cup - Men and Women's Team World Badminton Championship takes place every two years.
The 2010 Thomas - Uber Cup Pan Am Zone Qualifers take off in Lima, Peru from February 18-21. The top men's and women's teams from the Pan Am Zone qualify for the finals which will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia May 9 - 16, 2010.
USA takes on Colombia in the Thomas Cup this morning (February 18, 2010) and Dominican Republic in the Uber Cup in the evening.

Brief Thomas Cup History
The Thomas Cup (Men's Team World Badminton Championship) is the most sought after men's team trophy for badminton. Only three nations have won the Thomas Cup since its inception in 1948; Malaysia, Indonesia and China.
USA were runners up to Malaysia (then Malaya) in the second Men's Team World Badminton Championship in 1952 ( Malaya beat USA 7-2)

Brief Uber Cup History
The Uber Cup (Women's Team World Badminton Championship) is the most sought after women's team trophy in the badminton world. Only four nations have won the Uber Cup since its inception in 1956; the USA, Japan, Indonesia and China.
USA were champions in Women's Team World Badminton Championship in 1957 (USA beat Denmark 6-1), 1960 ( USA beat Denmark 5-2) and 1963 (USA beat England 4-3). USA were runner up to Japan in 1966 (Japan beat USA 5-2).
