Badminton's Andy Chong becomes U.S. citizen
On Thursday June 18th, USA Badminton's Andy Chong was among 400 new US citizens sworn in at Faneuil Hall in Boston, Mass. Boston's Mayor, Thomas M. Menino, was also present and spoke to the new citizens, who represented a total of 84 countries.
Andy played for Malaysia since he was fifteen years old in various tournaments including the Commonwealth Games. He won the Asian Men's Singles and was also a member of BAM's Elite Project 88. Andy also won over ten US National titles. He was a USA National Coach and also coached in Sweden. Andy was named as US Development Coach of the Year in 1999. He works for Bose and is currently the Maugus Club Pro in Massachusetts.
