JOAD Leadership

The JOAD Committee governs the JOAD Program. The committee consists of a JOAD National Coordinator, the Regional Coordinators (from the North, West, South, and East geographic regions of the United States) and one Athlete Representative. To view the Regional Map please click here. 

Committee Structure: 

The JOAD Committee is made up of five (5) members that serve two-year terms. JOAD Committee members must be at least 18 years old and may serve up to three consecutive two-year terms. Committee service is on a volunteer basis. Active participation in a JOAD Club is helpful, but not required. The USAA JOAD Committee meets quarterly by conference call and once a year in person. Day to day communications are primarily by email. General committee business averages 1/2 hour per week. Active committee members take on "special projects" that typically require 2 hours per week. • The athlete representative will be appointed at the beginning of the even years.
• South and East regions will be appointed at the beginning of the odd years
• North and West regions will be appointed at  the beginning of the even years

The National Coordinator

The National Coordinator is appointed by the president of USA Archery and approved by USA Archery Board of Directors (BOD). The National Coordinator selects the Regional Coordinators and the Athlete Representative and may select other members for special assignments. Regional Coordinators

As a Regional Coordinator, you will be asked to:

1. Focus on youth character and competitive archery development as a lifetime activity
2. Advise the USAA National JOAD Coordinator and USAA leadership on JOAD-related issues
3. Act as a resource to, and communicate with, your State Association and State JOAD Coordinator
4. Coordinate and promote JOAD activities within your own region
5. Assist in the coordination of the JOAD Regional Indoor and Outdoor Tournaments
6. Review Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant applications and assist in advising how grant funds will be distributed

State Coordinators

State Coordinators represent the JOAD Clubs in their state, and relay information to and from their state's JOAD clubs. They may hold meetings with state JOAD Club leaders regarding the State Indoor and Outdoor JOAD events. In some states they maintain state JOAD records. Some State Associations usually select the State JOAD Coordinator, but if there is not a State Association, they can be appointed by the Regional Coordinator.
