Apr 16 PILLA INC Becomes Official Technical Eyewear Provider for USA Archery

By USA Archery | April 16, 2014, midnight (ET)

(Danbury, CT. USA: April 16, 2014) – PILLA Performance Eyewear is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with USA Archery. Pilla is now the Official Technical Eyewear Provider and Sponsor for USA Archery.

“We are thrilled to work with USA Archery to bring the top performance enhancing glasses to some of the best athletes in the country,” said Philip Pilla, CEO of Pilla Performance Eyewear. “We’ve already worked with some of the top USA Archery shooters to design the first ever archery specific glasses and enjoyed great success on the world stage. A lot of archers have told us they’ve been waiting their whole careers for this kind of technology to be created.  So we are proud to support the team and to work with USA Archery to bring our products to the sport.”

To launch the relationship, PILLA is running an introductory offer of 10% off any archery products to USA Archery members, valid through May 1st. To take advantage of this offer, simply call PILLA’s main office at (203) 894-3265 with your membership number ready.

“We’re very pleased to announce this agreement with PILLA that will provide product support to archers on the United States Archery Teams as well as our membership,” notes USA Archery CEO Denise Parker. “The technology that PILLA brings to the table will help provide a technical advantage for our teams. It is important for USA Archery to provide the best products possible to our teams, and certainly PILLA and their performance eyewear meet this criteria.”

The PILLA archery design eliminates the nose piece altogether, allowing the High Definition, color enhancing lens to provide a full range of vision when looking at the target. “This is a major advantage for me. Now that I’ve shot with them, I can’t go back,” said Braden Gellenthien (USA), multi-time World Championship and World Cup medalist, and Longines Prize winner for most accurate male compound shooter in the world. “In the past I’ve always had to take my sunglasses off because of the nose bridge obstruction.  But the performance benefits go far beyond that. The multi-lens system allows me to regulate the light transmission, so I can have consistent light all the time and allow my eye to relax and focus critically. This means no more lefts and rights throughout the day, all you’re going to have is consistent accuracy every time you draw back your bow.”

All PILLA engineered lenses are made in Italy by Zeiss, the world leader in optics. The lenses are certified to be optically perfect, each one individually inspected by a Zeiss engineer to ensure the highest standard. PILLA’s proprietary lens technology boasts double the optical clarity of polycarbonate, the industry standard, and benefits from cutting edge performance enhancing coatings.
