Colorado Springs, CO – USA Archery has announced its event schedule
for 2013, with high-caliber tournaments packed into an exciting year that
includes national and international competition opportunities for adult and
youth archers alike.
In putting together the 2013 schedule, the organization
worked to balance a very hectic archery season, with three World Championships
events, four World Cups and the World Cup Final, the World Games, World Ranking
Events, and events scheduled by other U.S. archery organizations.
The year will kick off with the 44th U.S.
National Indoor Championships and 2013 JOAD National Indoor Championships. This
unique national championships event, held at eleven locations across the
country, will allow archers to compete for national titles in senior, youth and
JOAD divisions.
USA Archery’s U.S. Archery Team Qualifier Series kicks off
the 2013 outdoor season in April with the AAE Arizona Cup – a World Ranking
Event – in Phoenix, Arizona. The circuit then heads to Texas A&M University
later that month for the Texas Shootout, which will also host the World Games
Team Trials for compound archers.
In late May, archers head east for the Easton Foundations
Gator Cup in Newberry, Florida – and senior archers will have the opportunity
to compete for a spot on the World Archery Championships Team. The U.S.
National Field Championships – and World Games Team Trials for recurve and
barebow shooters – will take place in Texas in June.
The SoCal Showdown, held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center
in Chula Vista, California, will be held in late June, and will play host to
the World Archery Youth Championships Team Trials. From there, archers from
across the country will head to Hamilton, Ohio, for the 129th
National Target Championships and U.S. Open/ Easton JOAD Nationals, which will
be held in early July.
The outdoor season’s domestic events will wrap up with the
World Archery Para Championships Team Trials, which will be held in Chula
Vista, California in late August. For complete information, dates and locations
