Colorado Springs, CO – USA Archery has released an updated
2013 national events schedule. The event schedule coincides with the release of
selection procedures for the Cadet, Junior, Senior and Para United States
Archery Teams (USAT), and selection procedures for the 2013 Archery World Cup
events. Please click here to view Archery World Cup selection procedures;

teams has not yet been determined, and is expected to be announced soon.
Earlier in the year, USA Archery conducted surveys to determine
the feelings of the organization’s membership on USAT selection procedures as
well as the format of the National Target Championships and Easton JOAD
Nationals. In both instances, feedback received did not indicate a clear
majority in favor of change. Click here to view the survey results for USAT selection procedures; click here to view survey results for the format of the National Target Championships and Easton JOAD Nationals.
The USAA Board of Directors reviewed the survey data and
individual comments submitted by members on both topics. Based on feedback
received, as well as input from USA Archery staff and the Athlete Advisory Committee
representatives, the Board agreed that USAT selection procedures should remain
the same as they have in previous years, and that the National Target
Championships and Easton JOAD Nationals will remain a combined event with the
same basic format as 2012.
“We would like to thank all of our members who took the time
to participate in the survey process,” commented USA Archery CEO Denise Parker.
“By giving feedback via these surveys, you gave USA Archery staff and the Board
of Directors a better picture of the membership’s wishes on these topics.”
Please note that there is a slight change to the dates of
the combined National Target Championships/Easton JOAD Nationals event, which
is expected to allow for more efficient management of the event schedule. A
tentative event schedule is expected in early 2013. The Texas Shootout, which also serves as the
team trials for the World Games compound team, has solidified its dates as
April 25-28.
