The Junior Dream Team (JDT) is a program that was developed to provide training opportunities to young athletes who show competitive potential.
The Recurve Junior Dream Team consists of 36 of the most promising junior and cadet Olympic style archers in the country. The team travels to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California once per quarter for an intensive week long training camp. Between training camps, Junior Dream Team coaches and archers continue to work together through the use of video and video conferencing via the internet.
The Compound Junior Dream Team consists of 30 of the most promising young compound archers in the country. The Compound Junior Dream Team was developed to help young compound archers to focus on technical and mental skill development, with the ultimate goal of developing future international success at the World Championship and World Cup levels. Archers participate in training camps and receive ongoing assistance from coaches.
The Regional Dream Team is a prerequisite program for the Junior Dream Team. There are two teams: RDT-East and RDT-West, comprised of 30 dedicated and promising archers from each region of the country. This self-funded program is for recurve archers looking to improve their skills and gain access to the best-quality training in some of the most excellent archery training facilities in the world with a dedicated set of USA Archery certified coaches.
Successful Junior Dream Team program graduates include 2012 Olympian Miranda Leek, several World Archery Youth Championships Team Members, and USA Archery Resident Athletes.
