HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (March 21, 2012) - The 2012 ISU Long Track Single Distance Championships, kick off tomorrow at the Thialf arena in Heerenveen, Netherlands, and continue through March 25. On the line this weekend are season titles in the 500m, 1000m, 1500, 3000m, 5000m, 10000m distances and the Team Pursuit.

Shani Davis (Chicago, Ill.) will look to defend his 2011 1000m championship title,while Team USA will also be defending their 2011 World Championship title in the men’s Team Pursuit.

"Our team, both skaters and staff, are focused and prepared to finish off the season strong in the World Single Distance Championships," said U.S. Sprint Head Coach  Ryan Shimabukuro
