Team USA Closes 2012 Short Track Junior Championships With a Relay Bronze

MELBOURNE, Australia (February 26, 2012) – The 2012 ISU Short Track Junior World Championships concluded today with Team USA’s men winning bronze in the 3000m Relay. John-Henry Krueger (Pittsburgh, PA), Claude Gilbert (Spring Valley, NY), James Rodowsky (Annapolis, MD), and Adam Callister (Salt Lake City, UT) posted a time of 4:06.420, finishing behind Korea (4:02.440) and China (4:02.922).
"I’m happy that we came together as a team to take the bronze medal," said Rodowsky.
Krueger took 2nd in today's 1500m Superfinal, a non-medal event. Posting a time of 2:39.045, Kruger followed Tianyu Han (CHN) in 1st with 2:38.889. Been Hyo Lee (KOR) took third with a time of 2:39.
Korea’s Se Young Park finished 4th in the 1500m Superfinal (2:39.399), securing the Overall Men’s Championship title, Krueger finished 4th overall, Gilbert was 16th, and Rodowsky finished 19th.
Sarah Chen (San Marino, CA) had the top overall individual finish, 12th, for the ladies, followed by Sally Chea (Midlothian, VA) in 14th, and Kendal Pumphrey (San Clemente, CA) in 21st. Korea’s Suk Hee Shim won the overall individual ladies title, winning the 1500m, 500m and 1000m gold medals, and also setting a new junior world record in the 1000m at 1:30.208.
