Tulloch goes 7-0 on 1st day of Olympic qualifying

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) Skipper Genny Tulloch has gone 7-0 on the opening day of round-robin match racing at the U.S. Olympic Team Qualifying Regatta.

Tulloch had close victories against Anna Tunnicliffe, a gold medalist at the Beijing Games, and Sally Barkow, who sailed in those same Olympics.

Tulloch, Barkow and Tunnicliffe are members of US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics. Crewing for Tulloch are Jenn Chamberlin and Alice Manard Leonard.

Tunnicliffe and her crew of Molly Vandemoer and Debbie Capozzi were 6-1 while Barkow and her crew of Elizabeth Kratzig-Burnham and Alana O'Reilly were 5-2.

Stephanie Roble was 4-3, Becca Dellenbaugh 3-4, Maegan Ruhlman 2-5, Kaity Storck 1-6 and Sandy Hayes 0-7.

The top four teams will advance to the final selection event to determine the American entry for the London Olympics.
