U.S. Paralympics is presenting a Para-cycling Development Camp for cyclists in the C1-5 and Tandem categories, at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, November 2-9, 2013. This new camp is designed to identify and cultivate talent for both the track and the road.
The camp will pair experienced and new Para-cyclists. Athletes will learn valuable skills and training techniques from Team USA coaches, and will stay at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA during the camp.
The majority of costs for athletes selected to attend the camp will be covered by U.S. Paralympics. Accommodations and meals will be covered by the U.S. Olympic Training Center, and athletes who attend will be reimbursed up to $250 for airfare.
Athletes selected to participate should have some level of experience on both the road and the track, and will be required to bring both a road and a track bike. It is not required that applicants have experience competing on the track and road, although participants should be familiar with racing, specifically Para-cycling track racing.
