On Day 6 of the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team shutout No. 1 Canada 3-0 in the semifinal to advance to the gold medal game against Russia. U.S. alpine skier Mark Bathum and his guide Cade Yamamoto placed fourth in the slalom while U.S. wheelchair curling secured a fifth place finish in their competition. Snowboarders also practiced on Day 6 in preparation for the first-ever Paralympic snowboard cross competition on Day 7.
