On March 12 at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, Team USA won two medals. Laurie Stephens kicked-off Day 5 action with a bronze medal in the women's slalom sitting race while Tatyana McFadden, a track star turned cross-country skier, later won the silver medal in the women's 1-kilometer sprint sitting. the U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Curling Team beat both China and Sweden to improve to 4-4 at the Games.
