Apr 18 U.S. Men's Sitting Volleyball Team sweeps Mexico

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The U.S. Men's Sitting Volleyball Team swept Mexico on Wednesday, 25-16, 25-16, 25-10 at the Central American Games for Sitting Volleyball in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The U.S. Men's Sitting Team is competing in an international event for the first time in over a year. It will close out round-robin play at 9 p.m. CT on Thursday against Costa Rica.

J.Dee Marinko (Newcastle, Okla.) led the U.S. Men with 17 points on 10 kills, one block and six aces. Eric Duda (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) added 16 points and Rejy Bacchus (Bryan, Texas) and Charlie Swearingen (Gulfport, Miss.) each scored eight points.

"We played well as a team and set the pace early with consistent play," said Bacchus, who is playing in his first international tournament. "We had fun and I was more comfortable tonight getting over the nerves I had last night. The experience I'm gaining in this tournament will really benefit me."
