Paralympic Sport Alaska receives funding from Anchorage School District

ANCHORAGE, Alaska--Anchorage School District (ASD) Superintendant Carole Como has approved more than $40,000 in funding for Paralympic Sport Alaska's competitive sports program.

The funds will be used to purchase new sport wheelchairs, team uniforms, basketballs, soccer balls, pay for additional staff and much needed supplies.

Paralympic Sport Alaska is a partnership between Challenge Alaska and the Anchorage School District which provides Paralympic sport education, training, and coaching through developmental and competitive sports programing for youth with physical disabilities K-12 in the Anchorage School District.
This is the first time in the history of the Anchorage School District that dedicated funds have been allocated to provide sport and recreation programs for students with physical disabilities.
