Four More Medals for U.S. on Final Day of 2009 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships

BOGOGNO, Italy--The U.S. women closed out the 2009 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships with another dominant performance.  The ladies collected four medals on Sunday, bringing Team USA's total medal tally to 11.

WInning her first medal of the competition, Jennifer Schuble (Homewood, Ala.) took gold in the women's CP4/LC2 road race. 

Karissa Whitsell (Eugene, Ore.) and pilot Mackenzie Woodring (Grand Rapids, Mich.) left no doubt they are the duo to beat in the blind/visually impaired category as they won the B/VI road race, which was their second gold medal of these world championships.

Another pair of athletes claiming their second medal of the week were Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Greta Neimanas (Chicago, Ill.)  Jones won silver in the women's CP3/LC4 road race, while Neimanas claimed silver in the LC1 division. 

On the men's side, Mike Farrell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took seventh in the men's CP4 road race while Clark Rachfal (Annapolis, Md.) and pilot Dave Swanson (Tucson, Ariz.) crashed during the men's blind/visually impaired road race and did not finish.  Neither Rachfal nor Swanson were seriously injured.
