Two Medals for U.S. Team on Day 1 of UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships
BOGOGNO, Italy--Team USA captured two medals on the first day of competition at the 2009 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships. Oz Sanchez (San Diego, Calif.) won gold in the men's HCC time trial and Anthony Zahn (Riverside, Calif.) captured bronze in the men's LC4 time trial.
The two other U.S. athletes competing on Thursday managed top-10 finishes with Alejandro Albor (Elk Grove, Calif.) taking fifth place in the HCC time trial and David Randall (Mansfield, Ohio) landed in eighth place in the men's HCB time trial.
Competition continues on Friday with men's and women's time trials in the CP1-4, LC1-4 and blind/visually impaired classification.
