The Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling PRO Championships has signed on to host the final race of the series, and the event will showcase a handcycling time trial and criterium at one of the premier North American Pro cycling events. "This is a tremendous opportunity for handcycling, and for our U.S. racers" said U.S. Handcycling Executive Director, Ian Lawless. "An event that puts top athletes with and without disabilities together at the same venue, in front of the same crowds, is what the U.S. Handcycling Series is all about...it is truly a win/win!"
Handcyclists will compete on the same time trial course as their [able-bodied] professional counterparts on August 29, and will race a criterum the next day in front of the big crowd awaiting the finish of the Pro Championship road race. With the UCI Para Cycling Road World Championships just announced in Italy in mid-September, it will be a great opportunity for U.S. Paralympic Team members to hone their skills as well. "It's good timing and complimentary to the World Championships" said U.S. Paralympics High Performance Director for Cycling, Craig Griffin.

More details for handcyclists will be announced on USHandcycling.org and the event website in the coming weeks.
