U.S. Wins Wheelchair Basketball Junior World Championships

PARIS--The United States went on a 28-8 third quarter run turning a ten-point halftime lead into a blowout in the championship game of the IWBF Junior World Championships in Paris. The final score was USA 77 Spain 54.

Brian Bell's double-double (25 points, 10 rebounds) led the Americans.  Tournament MVP and 2008 U.S. Paralympian Steve Serio added 10 points and nine assists.

The Americans were undefeated in the tournament and every victory was by double digits. Spain was led by their big man Alejos with 24 points.  Jared Arambula and Chris Okon added 12 and 11 points respectively for the winners.  Brian Bell joined Steve Serio on the all-tournament team.
