USABA Seeks Volunteers for 2009 IBSA World Youth and Student Championships
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--The United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) is recruiting helpful volunteers to assist in hosting the 2009 IBSA World Youth and Student Championships and Pan American Games on Friday July 17 through Sunday July 19, 2009 in Colorado Springs.
The games will feature more than 350 blind and visual impaired athletes from 25 nations, all around the world. Athletes will be competing in the sports of Judo, Swimming, Track and Field, and Goalball (a team sport specifically for blind and visual impaired athletes.
Some of the many volunteer duties include: time and score keeping, guide running, hospitality, medal presenting, and transportation. The events will be held at three different venues:
- Goalball will be held at Colorado College El Pomar Gymnasium
- Swimming and Judo at the Olympic Training Center
- Track and Field at the St. Mary's Grace Center.
