Chris Klebl Once Again Leads U.S. at IPC Cross Country World Championships

VUOKATTI, Finland - For the second competition in a row, Chris Klebl (Heber City, Utah) led the U.S. Adaptive Cross Country Ski Team, finishing sixth during the IPC Cross Country World Championships Thursday in Finland.

Klebl led three of his teammates into the top 20 with Greg Mallory (Portland, Ore.) finishing 14th, Sean Halsted (Ephrata, Wash.) finishing 18th and Andy Soule (Pearland, Texas) 19th.

"The level of competition is huge because it is a World Championship race," U.S. Adaptive Cross Country Head Coach Greg Rawlings said.  There are also a lot of new young racers on the scene to make things exciting."

In the women's race Monica Bascio (Evergreen, Colo.) finished eighth as the only female competitor for the U.S.

The IPC Cross Country World Championship continue Sunday with a classic sprint.
