This tournament is highly anticipated around the world due to the extreme talent and skill each team posesses. It will certainly take a lot of hard work and phenomenal play to win this championship. Every team involved has a great chance of leaving a champion so in the next four weeks I will be doing everything possible to make sure my team continues its successful season.
The Turkish League is still going on as well and we are maintaining our dominance. These games not only help us solidify our spot as the number one team in the league, but also act as great preparation for the championships and allows us to build chemistry on the court in a game environment. These games are a lot of fun! Each team always comes to play their best against us, and I enjoy the healthy rivalry.
On a personal note, I'm a whole year older! I celebrated my 24th birthday on March 27th. It was very strange for me not to be surrounded with my friends and family from back in the States, but I enjoyed my time with my teammates and they have quickly become very good friends of mine.
After being away during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and soon to be Easter being overseas on my birthday wasn't so bad. This has been such an amazingly positive experience in my life so I just decided to celebrate each of those days the best as I could considering the circumstances. I'm not a homesick kind of guy, but I have certainly had a few coughs and sniffles! I miss my family and friends very much, and their support has been a big contribution to my happiness here. The season is almost at its end, and I've enjoyed it greatly!
I will keep you all posted on my preparation for European Championships. Thanks for the support!
