July 07, 2008, 10:26 a.m. (ET)
U.S. Paralympian Allison Ahlfeldt, a member the 2004 U.S. Paralympic Women's Sitting Volleyball Team, was named one of 10 finalists for Modern Bride Magazine's, "Modern Bride of the Year."

Ahlfeldt, 30, is in the top 10 out of approximately 3,000 entries. The top five brides are flown to New York and interviewed on the CBS Morning Show. The winner is then showcased on the front of Modern Bride Magazine.

As a 2004 Paralympian, Ahlfeldt helped lead the U.S. to a Bronze medal in Athens. She is now a retired athlete, and lives in Newport Beach, Calif., where she sells commercial insurance for Liberty Mutual and does public speaking appearances.

The five finalists are chosen through an online voting process at www.brides.com/modernbrideoftheyear.

Voting began July 2 and is open until July 14. Please show your support for Allison by voting!
