What's New in Equestrian - July 1

July 01, 2010, 5:20 p.m. (ET)
Rebecca Hart, riding Kazan, won the USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championship in a short-course format at Wayne, Ill. She also won the National Reserve Championship aboard Nortessa. “I am overwhelmed and it is such an honor, both horses have exceeded my expectations,” Hart said. The win puts Hart in a good position to earn a spot into the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Ten U.S. rider/horse combinations will be named for the world competition, and the National Championships served as a selection trial. … Chloe Gray, a senior at the University of South Carolina, won the 19- to 21-year-old division of the USEF National Youth Reigning Championships in the 2010 NRHA Derby at Oklahoma City, Okla.

Just ahead: AVA Region IX Championships, July 3-4, Lexington, Va.; Stars and Stripes Dressage, July 3-4, Somis, Calif.; FEI Nations Cup, July 9, Falsterbo, Sweden.
