By Linda Jager | March 16, 2014, 12 a.m. (ET)

KONTIOLAHTI, Finland (March 16, 2014) – Susan Dunklee (Barton, VT) battled windy conditions at the range today to finish 7th in today’s 10-kilometer pursuit. Posting a time of 33:53.4 and seven penalties, Dunklee was 3:01.4 back from Kaisa Makarainen (FIN) winning with a time of 30:52/+2, and sweeping all three women’s events in Kontiolahti.

“The wind made for some challenging shooting,” said Dunklee. “During my final standing stage, I had to wait out strong gusts. For long moments, there were no sounds of shots from anyone on the range, a very unusual occurrence. Skiing felt great again and I'm looking forward to one last week of World Cup action!”

Darya Domracheva (BLR) took second (31:52/+1), and Olga Zaitseva (RUS) was third (32:46.3/+5). Hannah Dreissigacker (Morrisville, VT) finished 49th (36:23/+8), and Sara Studebaker (Boise, ID) was 54th (37:35.3/+5). Extended results from the women’s pursuit are available here.

Lowell Bailey (Lake Placid, NY) finished 14th in today’s men’s 12.5km pursuit. Posting a time of 34:33.5/+5, Bailey finished 45.4 seconds back from Norway’s Johannes Thingnes Boe, completing a World Cup 8 hat-trick with today’s win (33:37.1/+5). World Cup leader Martin Fourcade (FRA) was second (33:53.4/+3), and Bjoern Ferry (SWE) finished third (33:57.5/+3).

Tim Burke (Paul Smiths, NY) finished 17th (34:34/+4), and Leif Nordgren (Marine, MN) was 34th (35:52.5/+4). Complete results from the men’s pursuit are available here.
