Sochi Spotlight on Hannah Dreissigacker

Making her Olympic debut in Sochi, Hannah began competing in Biathlon in 2009 after graduating from Dartmouth.  This is her second year on the US Biathlon National Team.  She was a member of the 2013 World Championship team and her strongest races of the 2013-14 season have been in relays. Her strong relay legs helped propel the team to 8th place in the World Cup relays in Hochfilzen and Le Grand Bornand.

A proud Vermont native.  Hannah is the daughter of  Judy Geer and Dick Dreissigacker, both Olympic rowers.  (Judy- '76, '80, '84) (Dick- '72).  Her aunt Carlie Geer also an Olympic rower, earning a silver medal in '84.  Hannah’s sister Emily and brother Ethan are also athletes.

Hannah lives and trains at Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, VT, and is a member of Craftsbury's Green Racing Team, which promotes sustainability. 

She received her bachelor’s degree from the Thayer School of Engineering with a focus on Sustainable Design.  Hannah’s hobbies include painting, cooking, gardening, mountain biking, and graphic design and building things.
